I have 13 beautiful new sisters, and they are all so unique in their own way. But I believe that the desire to love and be loved by someone greater than themselves is the same in all of us.
We all sleep in the school’s art room together, and last night after the day had ended and our thoughts began to jumble, we all slowly made our way down to what serves as the church sanctuary, when it’s not filled with giggling children on school days.
There in front of an empty stage, we each praised our Savior through song and dancing.
My head fell back against the checkered floor as my eyes drifted to the ceiling, which is filled with cracks and pinholes where light can shine through. And in that pure, sweet moment of surrender, the whole room filled with peace.
It made me realize that what we seek to know and understand of God comes with surrender. A raw giving up of ourselves so that Christ can fill all the empty spaces, almost like light shining through cracks in a ceiling.
